It was a first guitar and I was a complete beginner when I bought it, so I didn’t know what to look for. The frets too, needed quite a bit of work to make it decently playable. The switch was very poor quality and had to be replaced after a very short time. I’m not in any way knocking Epiphone, it was a nice guitar, excellent finish, incredible value for money etc, but there were some issues that were probably related to the price. Having said that, I had an Epi 339 a while back. I can think of a few reasons why Gibson wouldn’t want them to them do that with the Dot! 'What if we put the Gibby pickups in the Dot?'Įpiphone did do exactly that with the Gary Clark Casino.
